On Thursday, July 20, 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos and His Grace Bishop Ioannis and many guest clergy gathered to celebrate the Feast of Prophet Elias. Father Aris Metrakos of Holy Trinity in San Francisco, Father Tom Zaferes of Ascension Cathedral in Oakland, Father Ion Coman of St. John the Baptist in Carmel, Father Nebojsa Pantic of St. Nicholas in San Jose at the chanter stand, Father Christopher Dillon of Sts. Peter and Paul in Ben Lomond, and Father Seraphim Majmudar, Father Nathaniel and Deacon James of St Lawrence in Felton. Our Kostas Amberiadis, Stephan Joanides and Enrique Villegas-Ortiz served in the Holy Altar. Many faithful from other parishes attended, too. We remembered the Invasion of Cyprus with a Memorial service. Father Nicholas Metrakos of Holy Trinity in San Francisco delivered the homily to honor both Prophet Elias and St. Maria of Paris who are both commemorated on July 20. Following the services all in attendance enjoyed a luncheon and greeted our many friends and guests. Amin!
